Exploring the Depths of God’s Grace in Scripture

Below are the verses that were explored recently at our Bible Study to illustrate the breadth and depth of God’s Grace. We could spend a thousand lifetimes exploring God’s Grace and at the end of that time, all we would realise is how little we had learnt. God’s Grace and Bounty is infinite and we never begin to exhaust all He has for us.

The verses below are from the Good News Translation

Ephesians Ch 2: vv 8 – 10: For it is by God’s grace that
you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your
own efforts, but God’s gift, so that no one can boast about it.
God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ
Jesus He has created us for a life of good deeds, which He
has already prepared for us to do.

Romans Ch 5: vs 20 & 21: Law was introduced in order to
increase wrongdoing; but where sin increased, God’s grace
increased much more. So then, just as sin ruled by means of
death, so also God’s grace rules by means of righteousness,
leading us to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2 Corinthians Ch 12: vs 9 & 10: But his answer was: “My
grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are
weak.” I am most happy, then, to be proud of my
weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ’s power
over me. I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships,
persecutions, and difficulties for Christ’s sake. For when I am
weak, then I am strong.

Hebrews Ch 4: vs 15 & 16:   Our High Priest is not one who
cannot feel sympathy for our weaknesses. On the contrary,
we have a High Priest who was tempted in every way that we
are but did not sin. Let us have confidence, then, and
approach God’s throne, where there is grace. There we will
receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.

John 1: vs 16 & 17: Out of the fullness of His grace, He has
blessed us all, giving us one blessing after another. God gave
the Law through Moses, but grace and truth came through
Jesus Christ.

Acts Ch 15: vs 10 & 11: So then, why do you now want to
put God to the test by laying a load on the backs of the
believers which neither our ancestors nor we ourselves were
able to carry? No! We believe and are saved by the grace of
the Lord Jesus, just as they are.”

James Ch 4: v 6:   But the grace that God gives is even
stronger. As the scripture says, “God resists the proud, but
gives grace to the humble.”

Romans Ch 6: v 14: Sin must not be your master; for you
do not live under law but under God’s grace.

1 Corinthians Ch 15: v 10: But by God’s grace I am what I
am, and the grace that He gave me was not without effect.
On the contrary, I have worked harder than any of the other
apostles, although it was not really my own doing, but God’s
grace working with me.

Titus Ch 2: vv 11 – 14: For God has revealed His grace for
the salvation of all people. That grace instructs us to give up
ungodly living and worldly passions, and to live self-
controlled, upright, and godly lives in this world, as we wait
for the blessed Day, we hope for, when the glory of our great
God and Saviour Jesus Christ will appear. He gave himself for
us, to rescue us from all wickedness and to make us a pure
people who belong to Him alone and are eager to do good.
